Currently, our MERLIN platform is made of six vantage points based on the MERLIN monitor and one central MERLIN server. The server is located in Strasbourg (France) while the six monitors are well distributed accross the AS graph: one is Louvain-la-Neuve (UCL stub network, Belgium), one in Napoli (UNINA stub network, Italy), one in Waikato (archipelago monitor, New-Zealand), one in San-Diego (archipelgo monitor, USA), one in Redwood City (LISP based monitor, USA) and one in Strasbourg (Strasbourg, OSIRIS stub network). Fig. 1 gives the geolocation of each MERLIN component. Note that all vantage points implement a modified version of Paris-Traceroute in addition to the MERLIN client. It allows for extending topological information retrieved thanks to IGMP probing using ICMP probing.

Our platform takes benefit from the coverage of these six vantages points: their specific location in the AS graph allows to reduce the negative impact of the IGMP transit filetring.
